There’s something so peaceful and magical about a winter wedding in the Ozarks but it is even more magical at Big Cedar Resort. This beautiful wedding day was simple, elegant, and heartfelt, surrounded only by the couple’s closest friends and family. I had the joy of second shooting this Big Cedar wedding with Bailey Brewer, and it was such a meaningful celebration to be part of.

Big Cedar Lodge truly shines year-round, but there’s something extra romantic about winter & the holidays here. The quiet lake views, cozy lodge atmosphere, and stone architecture created the perfect classic backdrop. Not to mention their spectacular Christmas light set up! Branson is well known across the midwest as being the most magical place during Christmas. Big Cedar really does it well, with lots of light displays but also keeping their buildings covered in classic white lights. Even with the cooler temperatures, the day felt warm and inviting — full of genuine laughter, joyful tears, and quiet moments shared between the couple and the people they love most.
Simple, Classic, and Full of Meaning
This wasn’t an over-the-top production & that was what made it so elegant.
The bride wore a dress with timeless look that fit beautifully with the winter setting. The groom kept things classic as well, and together they brought such a peaceful energy to the day. The bride got ready in a lodge that was the perfect space for her & her girls. The first looks with her mom, dad & bridesmaids was so sweet!
The couple did their first look and private vows behind the spa. Their ceremony at the Garden Chapel was intimate and emotional, being officiated by the groom’s dad. This followed by portraits among the rustic stone pathways, evergreens, and sweeping Ozark Mountain views that Big Cedar Lodge and Top of the Rock weddings are known for.
The reception was a party, complete with a simple cake, the most delicious short ribs, and custom made hats to celebrate their Missouri destination wedding!
Because the wedding was intentionally small, every guest truly mattered. You could feel the closeness in every hug, laugh, and toast shared throughout the day.
